This page hints at more than it states. Handle these reveals at the table with care. ## Realm Overview Pyranthia is less a world than a wound in the order of worlds. Realities overlap here, and the boundaries that keep one Stratum from spilling into the next have begun to fail. The Fell who awaken in Pyranthia do so with fragmented memories, granted a strange foreign magic and dropped into a place where the ground itself cannot be trusted to stay where it was. Nexus anomalies spread across the region like cracks across ice, and each one widens. ## A World That Will Not Hold Still What makes Pyranthia dangerous is also what defines it. Worlds and identities bleed together here, and displaced beings from across the Sphere wash up on its shifting shores. Among them gather the Dwellers, the Capling, the Rysen, and the Vate, peoples pulled out of their proper places by the convergence. To live in Pyranthia is to never be entirely certain which reality you woke in, or whether it is the same one you will sleep in. ## Nexus Magic Nexus Magic is not a Brand and answers to no single world. It is the art Zarathis stumbled into during the wars against Malvaro, the knack of crossing between worlds through natural nexus points, the places where reality folds thin under its own weight. He was the first to travel that way without any Brand to carry him. The power works from outside the system rather than within it, turning the instability of the Sphere to use from the position of an anomaly, which is why no one who belonged to a world could safely follow where he went. One such nexus lay in Valoria, beyond what would become the Bridgewall, and finding it made Valoria reachable and set the stage for Discord's birth there. ## Interface Magic The magic native to Pyranthia is unlike the Brands of the Stratums. Where a Brand expresses the soul of a single world, Interface Magic reaches into the seams between worlds and works them directly, touching the machinery that holds realities apart. It is unstable and poorly understood, and the LoreMaster grants it to the newly awakened Fell for reasons that are rarely made plain. Its deepest use is as the answer to Nexus Magic. A Fell carrying Interface Magic becomes a valid participant in the Sphere's rules even while standing on a nexus point, which collapses the advantage Zarathis held by standing outside them. The LoreMaster keeps it hidden because sustained use eats at Pyranthia's already fragile place beyond the Skyvault. ## Zarathis Pyranthia's instability is no accident. Zarathis engineered it. Once a Fell of Valoria who slipped free of the ordinary cycle, he rose into something closer to a god of the nexus, patient and certain and impossible to reason with. He came to believe that the deep order of the Sphere was broken beyond saving, and that only a forced convergence, a deliberate reshaping of every world into one, could prevent something worse. He was slain in his own nexus realm. The trouble he left behind was not. The hardest thing for the Fell to carry is not that Zarathis was a monster. It is the suspicion, growing the deeper they look, that some part of what he saw was true. ## Notable Places Pyranthia's geography is a hazard in itself. The Nexus Core Vault holds the floating machinery at the heart of the instability, where the convergence was first set in motion. The Nexus Spine runs through the world like a great dimensional vein, joining many worlds imperfectly and dangerously. The Nexus Markets trade in goods that arrive from realities that may no longer exist, and the Nexus Breach is an open scar where terrain duplicates, time stutters, and Zarathis' remnants still linger. ## Current State Since the First Nexus Collapse, the instability has spread along the dimensional routes that thread out from Pyranthia. Cosmic entities circle the wreckage Zarathis left, hunting the power he hid. And in the quiet places, the oldest records hint at a fear larger than any single world, that the convergence Zarathis forced was only an early symptom of something the Sphere itself is doing. > [!note] On the Dwellers > The Dwellers who wash up in Pyranthia are not unique to it. They are the Sphere-wide lineage best known on Valoria, found on countless worlds. Pyranthia simply draws the displaced, and few peoples are as displaced as the Dwellers.
