> ### With the Fell
> Whip does the talking. When the Fell need a door opened or a price brought down, he is the one who opens his mouth, and it was Whip who traded with the Veiled Herald at the Frosty Mug and bargained Serena's keeping out of a furious Lady Seraphina. He works in shadow and carries an Orb, and a greedy hand is his weakness. Reaching for a chest of gold in the Veiled Queen's forest dropped him into her realm with her strings through his chest, and only Tetherghasting got him loose. When an enemy took Lantern's leg at the Broken Spire, Whip stripped it to the bone, fixed his Orb to the end, and made the weapon he calls Lantern's Leg, and he has never once let Lantern forget where it came from. He has a habit of collecting people. Through a working of his own crafting he can bind those he wins over into a band he calls his Enlisted, and he grows it wherever the Fell go, talking soldiers out from under their officers and, at the Broken Spire, leashing the Queen's broken puppet to the rest once the fight was done. In the veiled swamp and the sunken cathedral the band grew again, a pair of Murmock and a drowned paladin pressed into it along the way, and Alden the Faithful leashed to it after the Fell put him down, until Alden turned on him under the Veiled Queen's pull at the Ember Fort and Whip butchered him in front of the rest to make the point. He keeps the shrunken head of the Queen's lava dragon on the leash now. Spindle, who knows him, writes him off as a boy chasing echoes of power without the patience or cunning to matter. At the grave of the king he made the last and biggest deal of the campaign. He paid Sunderbane's price to wield the blade that erased Arandon and made Discord, put it through the Veiled Queen's heart, and ended the Shattering of Valoria. He lifted the reforged Crown off the stone, wore it just long enough to trade it back to Calevar for a doubled favor, and stayed in Valoria with the old country's rebels added to his Enlisted. He carries Sunderbane still, which makes him the most hunted thing in the Sphere, and seems untroubled by it.
