# Bearing > *"How much weight, strain, or burden can I carry?"* Bearing is the skill of carrying what needs to be carried and holding what needs to be held. It is about staying functional under weight, physical, structural, and circumstantial, when the load would drop anyone unprepared for it. It governs anything that demands sustained physical support. Hauling cargo, carrying an ally through hostile terrain, holding a collapsing beam long enough for others to clear the room, dragging something immovable across ground that resists every step. Bearing also covers prolonged physical strain, the kind of effort that does not show up in a single moment but accumulates across miles and hours. In the Sphere, Bearing has saved lives by making one person capable of doing what four could not manage in time. For the Fell, it is the quiet skill, rarely celebrated, impossible to replace when it matters. > [!note] Example Skill Checks > > - Carry an unconscious ally to safety across difficult terrain without dropping them. > - Hold a collapsing beam, door, or structure in place long enough for others to escape. > - Drag a heavy object across ground that resists movement: a wagon, a barricade, a body. > - Haul cargo, equipment, or supplies under conditions that would exhaust anyone less prepared. > - Endure sustained physical strain across a long march, a difficult crossing, or a grinding labor.
